OVERVIEW
Yin & Yang Lung Cancer Masterclass is an itinerant event taking place in three main cities:
Milan, Paris and Boston. Yin & Yang Lung Cancer Masterclass has early career oncologists
and residents (<40 years) as primary focus.
A distinguished senior faculty, including international KOLs, will help early and mid-career
thoracic oncologists in discussing and presenting data from scientific papers, as well as
fostering “out of the box thinking” and critical interpretation of results.
Presentation of clinical cases from early and mid-career thoracic oncologists will precede
talks given by senior faculty on specific gray areas and hot topics in the management of lung
cancer patients such as: the contribution of adjuvant immunotherapy after neoadjuvant
chemotherapy and immunotherapy in resectable non-small cell lung cancer; the role of
adjuvant chemotherapy in resectable non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR or ALK
alterations; the best first line treatment option in EGFR mutant or ALK rearranged metastatic
NSCLC; the choice of combo-immunotherapy including a CTLA-4 inhibitor in non-oncogene
addicted NSCLC and the choice between treatment escalation or maintenance strategies in
small cell lung cancer including novel agents.

FORMAT
The event will cover two days. The first day, 11th July, is reserved for 20 oncologists, surgeons or radiation oncologists (both in training or already specialized) <40 years, previously selected.
On the second day, 12th July, the conference will be held, and it will be accredited as CME event (valid for Italian participants only).
Participation is free after registration.
WORKSHOP – HOW THE JULY 11th DAY WILL UNFOLD
People will be divided in 5 tables, each consisting of 4 selected trainees.
For each table, there will be 2 senior faculty and 1 methodologist, moving from one table to another during the workshop. Some articles will be chosen by the faculty for each table, trainees will work on such articles and a critical discussion on the topic will be presented by a member chosen among the 4 trainees.
Voting jury will be composed by 10 Senior Medical Oncologists + 3 Chairs + 4 Methodologists and will vote for the group (4 trainees + 2 seniors) with the best article discussion.
The winner group will be awarded with a Yin & Yang diploma.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WORKSHOP

Submit CV (max. 2 pages including the 5 most relevant publications), motivation letter (500 words), clinical case (max. 10 slides) on 1 out of 5 topics chosen. Selected maximum 15-20 participants and among them 5 clinical cases (each for each topic). Applicants must be oncologists, surgeons or radiation oncologists (both in training or already specialized) <40 years.
1 night accommodation + travel grant forwarded for maximum 1000 euros (applicants from outside Europe), maximum 500 euros (applicants from Europe) and maximum 250 euros (applicants from Italy) to selected applicants.
CME CREDITS (only July 12th): CME-ID 1023-450348
CME accreditation (valid for Italian participants only) for: Medical Doctor.
CME credits RES: 6
Italian CME credits will be granted to those participants who attend at least 90% of scientific works, in the questionnaire assessment of perceived quality and duly in the evaluation questionnaires answering correctly 75% of the questions.
